Travelling is very popular nowadays. A lot of people travel to different countries if they have such opportunity. Travelling allows you to get interesting experience, learn about people’s life in other countries and continents. I think it is very interesting to discover new things, new places and different ways of life. While on travel, you meet new people, try different meals; see world famous places with your own eyes.
These are many ways of traveling – by train, by plain, by ship, on foot. If you want to visit a far country, you’ll definitely choose a flight. If your aim is to see many countries for a short time, you’ll choose travelling by bus or by car. If you want to be closer to nature, you may choose a trip on foot.
Lots of people nowadays live in big cities. So it’s natural that they want to have a holiday by the sea or in the mountains with nothing to do but relaxing. There is other sort of travellers. They want to visit as many countries as possible. So after exploring Europe and North America they go to exotic countries.
People who travel a lot, are very interesting, they always have a good story to tell. Thanks to them you can learn many things which you didn’t know before. They motivate to see something new, to explore the world, which is so easy to do nowadays. Any kind of travel helps you to understand many things that you would never see or learn at home.
As English people say – A picture is worth a thousand words. And I totally agree with them.

When you travel you get new experience, learn about the cultures of other countries and visit unique places around the whole world. Travelling is learning foreign languages, tasting local dishes and meeting new friends.
My family and I travel quite a lot, we have already visited many places in Russia and abroad. But still I have a dream about a perfect holiday I will have some day.
I like beach holiday but at the same time I can’t stay at one place for a long time. So usually when we go travelling we try to combine sightseeing and relaxing on the seaside. So my dream holiday is not an exception. I would like to go to luxurious five star hotel with delicious food and no Russian people around. There should certainly be a swimming pool and it should be close to the sea. I like when there are young people in the hotel, because then it usually has parties every night, where you can dance and meet interesting people.
My perfect holiday should last for about 2 weeks – one week of relaxing on the beach and another one is for excursions and sightseeing. I am fond of watching ruins of ancient buildings, wonderful architecture of European cities. So if I had a holiday of my dream I would certainly go to Spain or Italy, where I would have a chance to combine sea and excursions. I would get up early to have time for every interesting place and activities.
My dream holiday also includes meeting new people. When I travel I always try to find new friends from different countries and then to stay in touch with them.
I hope someday my dream will come true and I will have a perfect holiday.

On my holidays I went to Spain for 10 days! It was a lot of fun!
I went to Spain with my family: my mum, dad and my sister.
But it was a good thing that I didn’t forget my English, because I had to use my English to talk to other people that were from all over the world! Not only that, I had to use my English in the plane, so that I know what the stuardess’s were asking and telling me.
I found lots of friends in Spain, to talk and to be able to communicate with them I needed my English.

I would like to have some rest from school fuss and the city on summer holidays. Recently, I’ve got a letter from my old friend who lives at the Black Sea coast and I thought that it would be a wonderful idea to see him once again. That’s why I’ve decided to spend my summer holidays in Sochi. I guess, that it’s the best place to have an unforgettable summer. There are breathtaking views of pure nature, a warm sea and plenty of entertainments for young people. Moreover, it’s cheaper than go to Italy, for example. And I don’t need a touristic visa to see this amazing town and transportation costs won’t be great. Then, Sochi isn’t far city; I rate my summer time highly and don’t want to spend a lot of hours during the way. But I also don’t want to roast myself for all the holidays. I’m going to enrich my store of knowledge. Fortunately, there are numbers of monuments, museums, theatres and historical places in the city, so I can learn much more about history of the town and my fatherland.

Dear Alex,
How are you? I am in the capital of England - in London. My parents and I have always dreamed of visiting this beautiful city.
There are many beautiful old buildings. We have already visited Westminster Abbey, Big Ben (now called Elizabeth Tower), the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the Cathedral of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge, the Tower of London and the wax museum Madame Tussauds. In this museum there are figures of famous people from pop stars to prime ministers, made of wax. They look like the real thing. It’s so interesting.
My parents and I walk now for Trafalgar Square. At its center is Nelson’s Column, which is at the base of the statue is guarded by four lions. By the way, I sent you this postcard with a picture of Trafalgar Square.
The weather today is not very foggy and rainy. But it does not spoil our walk.
We made a lot of pictures. Next week we’ll be home and I’ll show you them.
