Heavy traffic is one of the most serious problems that our cities have to deal with nowadays. What can we do, then, to reduce traffic in our city centres? To begin with, it is important to improve public transport and to encourage people to use it to commute to work and to school. The result would be fewer cars in the city and consequently fewer traffic jams. Another solution would be to encourage people to participate in car sharing programmes. This means several employees would share one car to work instead of each coming in their own car. Again, this would reduce the number of cars on the streets. Finally, it would be a good idea to create more cycling lanes. If this was done, people would be encouraged to cycle instead of taking their car. To sum up, there are many ways to reduce traffic in the city. Applying just some of these ideas would result in a lot less traffic in our cities.

For example, I remember when I was in high school that we celebrated the Multicultural Day. On that day everyone wore their cultural clothes, brought and shared cultural foods, also there were some representatives from each culture shared some important aspects of each culture. As a result I learned about different cultures and languages in Toronto. Toronto is good for education. They give more freedom to people. For example, in Toronto you could study as much you can, but back home in Sri Lanka we can only study up to certain age. The second reason is Toronto is good place to find a decent job. Toronto has many companies & factories; therefore we could get job related to our field which we are studying in. Moreover, we have lot of opportunities to start small business in Toronto. Furthermore there are many fast food restaurants so we could find job as part time. For example, most of the students in Toronto working as part time in fast food restaurants. So they could experience themselves in working field. Finally, Toronto has many interesting places for tourists. I would like to talk about few spots which are CN Tower and Air Canada Center. CN Tower a great place for tourists. It is one of the famous places in Toronto because its world’s tallest free standing building which is located in Downtown. You can enjoy the view from the either closed or far to watching places. It’s one of the most dramatic ways of seeing the world from the CN Tower. Other spot is Air Canada Center; it is also located in Downtown. Air Canada Center is great stadium which is built for sports to played in, especially for hockey and basket.

История Омска началась с возведения Первой Омской крепости на левом берегу Оми.
Поводом этому послужил Указ Петра 1 от 22 мая 1714 г. По которому вглубь Сибири с целью нахождения «песочного золота» в городе Еркете была снаряжена экспедиция. Возглавил ее гвардии подполковник Иван Дмитриевич Бухольц.
Так, в 1717 году была возведена Первая Омская крепость. Она была деревянной и занимала площадь около 6 гектаров. Оборонительные сооружения крепости состояли из сухого рва глубиной три метра и земляного вала высотой в один метр. По гребню вала проходил палисад высотой в 3,5 метра из врытых в землю и плотно приставленных друг к другу березовых бревен. По углам крепости были сооружены бастионы, на которых располагались пушки.
К середине XVIII в. Омская крепость являлась узловым пунктом системы укреплений Верхне-Иртышской, а позднее - Пресногорькой линии. Однако, несмотря на реконструкции и ремонтные работы, она постепенно устарела и перестала соответствовать военным требованиям того времени. И поэтому в 1750-е гг. Встает вопрос о строительстве Новой Омской крепости на правом берегу реки Оми. Инициатором строительства стал командующий сибирскими линиями генерал-поручик И. И. Шпрингер. Строительные работы начались 2 мая 1768 года.
Крепость возводилась как одно из крупнейших сооружений на Востоке страны и представляла собой многоугольник площадью более 30 гектаров и имела 4 бастиона и 3 полубастиона. Она имела четверо ворот: Омские, Тарские, Тобольские и Иртышские. В исторической части Омска сохранились Тобольские ворота, а в 1991 г. Были восстановлены Тарские ворота, ставшие своеобразной визитной карточкой Омска.
Постепенно, вокруг новой крепости начал образовываться город. Теперь крепость – исторический центр города Омск.

The park is big and beautiful. If you come here you will be surprised to feel how fresh and cool the air is. I like to walk there and listen to the birds. There are a lot of roller skaters and cyclists. In winter our family go to the ski base. We snowboard and ski. We like to play snowballs. It is fun!
