My name is Marina. I’m fourteen years old and I’m a pupil of the state secondary school. The city where I was born and raised is Krasnodar. It’s a regional capital and administrative center, situated in the south part of Russia. The city is rather big. It houses hundreds of enterprises and factories. The population is very close to one million. I’m sure when it approaches this number the city authorities will build a metro. In my opinion, subway stations would be very helpful in such city as Krasnodar. At the moment we’re having heavy traffic on the roads. If this problem would be solved, my city on the whole is very beautiful and comfortable for living. It is full of large malls, cinemas, theatres, galleries and exhibitions. When I want to spend my weekend pleasantly I go with my friends to the city center to one of the pizza places or cinemas. Another good place for friendly party is a bowling alley. My favorite part of the city is Krasnaya Street. It is the oldest and the most beautiful central street of Krasnodar. Full of interesting monuments, alleys and sights it attracts thousands of tourists. The street is very convenient for evening and weekend walks as it’s partially closed. I should mention that Krasnodar is rather multinational. Many southern nations inhabit my home city, including the Russians, the Armenians, the Georgians, the Circassians, the Greeks, etc. That’s why there is a wide choice of restaurants with national cuisines. Я коренной житель Воронежа: родился и всю жизнь живу здесь, мои родители также родом из Воронежской области. И я с уверенностью могу сказать, что люблю свой край, свой родной город. Когда я куда-то уезжаю из Воронежа, то почти сразу начинаю скучать по нему. Это особенно остро чувствуется при возвращении - с нетерпением ждешь, когда появятся родные пейзажи, запахнет родной землей, появятся за окном родные лица.
Понятно, что я люблю свой город, потому что здесь прошла вся моя, еще такая недолгая, жизнь – здесь мой дом, мои друзья, мои родственники. С Воронежем, его улочками, площадями, памятниками связаны мои детские воспоминания. В деревне под Воронежем я проводил почти каждое лето - там навсегда останется часть моей души.
Однако я считаю, что любить и гордиться моим городом можно и по объективным причинам. Прежде всего, как мне кажется, гордости заслуживает история Воронежа. За свою более чем четырехсотлетнюю жизнь этот город пережил немало - нашествия врагов, несколько опустошительных пожаров, эпидемию холеры, страшную засуху, голод. Но всегда Воронеж восставал из пепла, несмотря ни на что, полностью восстанавливался.
Хочу заметить, что во многом это происходило благодаря «воронежскому люду», особому духу Воронежа. Население города – это смесь коренных жителей и крестьян из других мест, присланных на строительство, а потом и проживание здесь. Думаю, благодаря суровым условиям, в Воронеже приживались лишь сильные и самостоятельные люди, крепкие не только телом, но и духом, на все смотрящие «под своим собственным углом».
Подтверждение тому, как мне кажется, в эпохе Смутного времени. Известно, что в этот период воронежцы имели смелость поддерживать Лжедмитрия I и Лжедмитрия II, категорически не принимая официальную власть. А после разгрома самозванцев жители города не смирились и не присягнули полякам, оставаясь преданными русской земле.
