In the ZooHave you ever been to the Zoo at feeding time? I was there last summer. Many kinds of animals live there: elephants, giraffes, lions, dolphins, brown bears, foxes, monkeys. There are many kinds of birds there too. It was so interesting to watch the animals. As usual the monkeys were full of fun. They jumped, ran, played with each other and ate bananas. Big birds were stretching their wings and flying down to their food. Two dolphins jumped out of the water to catch their fish. Baby lions had a fight for their meat. London is very famous, well-known city. It has benn so for ages. I guess, it is interesting even nowadays. What are my expectations from such city? I'd like to see it's best sights - Downing St. St. Paul's Cathedral, New Scotland Yard and many others. I would also like to see what is like to live everyday in this city - it is not the same as it was before multicultural integration process and "refugee" problem. England is so difficult to understand kind of place for me.

London shows examples of buildings that express all the different areas of its history. Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the Sovereign. The daily ceremony of the Changing of the Guards takes place in its courtyard. The palace was built in 1703 by the Duke of Buckingham. Piccadily Circus Has become an important meeting point - for as well as sightseers. At its heart is a bronze fountain topped by a figure of a winded archer, known as Eros, the pagan god of love. This area is now famous for its theatres, clubs and shops. Whitehall is a street in central London running from Trafalgar Square to the Houses of Parliament and containing many important buildings and government offices, such as the Treasury, Admiralty and others, In the centre of the roadway stands the Cenotaph, the memorial to the fallen of both world wars. The Prime Minister’s residence at No. 10 Downing Street is directly connected to Whitehall. London is always full of life. The streets are crowded with traffic. High ’double-decker’ buses rise above the smaller cars and vans. The city of London today is the financial powerhouse of the country and one of the chief commercial centers of the western world. The city has its own Lord Major, its own Government and its own police force. Here the medieval buildings stand side by side with modern glass high-rise offices. The parks of London provide a welcome contrast to the great built-up areas. St. James’s Park, Green Park, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens are linked together. They form 313 hectares of open parkland in the heart of London.

Я хотела бы побывать в Букингемском дворце. Это то место, где живёт королева. В Лондоне много музеев. Например, музей Мадам Тюссо-музей восковых фигур. Посетители могут увидеть восковые фигуры выдающихся людей во всем мире.

The most important parts of London are: the City, the East End, the West end and Westminster. The busiest part is, of course, the City. Thousands of companies, business organizations, banks and offices are situated there and millions of people work there on daily basis. The West End and the East End classification shows that London has still class distinction system. The West End is traditionally inhabited by rich and successful people. Besides, almost all the city theaters, museums, galleries, posh shops and restaurants are situated in West End area. East End is the place where working class lives. This district is not as rich as others and has fewer parks. Westminster area contains many sightseeing buildings. The most famous of all is the Westminster Abbey. It’s the place where many prominent Englishmen are buried. Among them Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, Alfred Tennyson and many others. London is full of places of interest. When tourists arrive there, they want to see the Piccadilly Street, which is especially beautiful at night, the Baker Street, the place where Sherlock Holmes lived and worked, the Tower, which is famous as home of the Crown Jewels, the Hyde Park with its Speaker’s Corner, the Museum of Madame Tussauds and many others. One of the favorite tourist attractions is London Eye. It’s one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world.

London is the capital of the United Kingdom, its economic, political and cultural center. It is one of the world’s most important ports and one of the largest cities in the world. London with its suburbs has a population of about 11 million people.
London has been a capital for nearly a thousand years. Many of its ancient buildings still stand. The most famous of them are the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Most visitors also want to see the Houses of Parliament and the many magnificent museums.
Once London was a small Roman town of the north bank of the Thames. Slowly it grew into one of the world’s major cities.
Different areas of London seem like different cities. The West End is a rich man’s world of shops, offices and theatres. The City of London is the district where most offices and banks are concentrated; the Royal Exchange and the Bank of England are here, too. The East End is a district where mostly working people live. The old port area is now called "Docklands". There are now new office buildings in Docklands, and thousands of new flats and houses.
By the day the whole of London is busy. At night, offices are quiet and empty, but the West End stays alive, because this is where Londoners come to enjoy themselves. There are two opera houses here, several concert halls and many theatres, as well as cinemas. In nearby Soho the pubs and restaurants and nightclubs are busy half the night.

Thefirst world underground was built in London. London subway is famous all over the world. I want to have a look on it. With the help of London subway you will have a chance to know London. London contains 4 parts, unlike to each other: the West End, the East End, the City and Westmister. The West End is famous for its various rich shops, reastaurants, museums. It is a part of London for people with a big amount of money. Contrarily, the East End means poverty, working people are its inhabitants. The City is a business place. Here you can find a great amount of offices, companies, business centers. Lastly, Westmister is full of sightseeing attractions. There are so many places in London to see that it is difficult to mark some most famous, but I’d try to do this. I can’t but mention Big Ben. Practically everybody knows that Big Ben is London famous clock. Far from Big Ben you will see London eye, the biggest one in Europe. It is a unique chance to see London from bird’s eye panorama.
