Russia - a great country. Hundreds of years she fought for their independence, for what would prove its status on the world stage. Russia has developed, made seven-league strides in the areas of education, science, technology, medicine and other aspects of social life. Every person who has ever stood at the head of our state, even if not for a long time, always did a lot for his people, to make a special contribution to the history of our country. But many will say, "Not all of our Head of State had positive results of his government." But in response to this statement we can say that no matter what the consequences were not following the departure of a political leader, they still give some impetus for change, and Russia sent on a particular path of development.
Every citizen of the Russian Federation enshrined constitutional rights: the right to vote and to be elected. But can a man who is not interested, and not knowing the political situation in their own country, to vote, much less be elected? For many years, our ancestors fought for what would have been commissioned in Russia, though like a democracy. And here we are - their descendants finally live in a free society, in a democratic society. However, more and more young people do not find it necessary to go to the polls, believing that their vote does not matter, and will not affect the outcome of the election campaign. This suggests either political passivity, ignorance, lack of knowledge.
In the near future, Russia will hold presidential elections in the Russian Federation. This is an important date in the history of our state. Which path will the development of our country, what would be the life of the people, it is our life, it all depends on who comes to power now. This, in turn, depends on us, the citizens of Russia. Therefore, we must take responsibility for the choice of the candidate for whom you would like to cast your vote. After March 2 will be elected the head of the first people of our state.
Personally, I would like to see our country as the first world power, as the richest, most developed state. However, we can notice that the last eight years, Russia begins to recover its position in the world. Over the past eight years, our country among the seven major economies of the world ¬ ther, ahead of Italy and France, GDP grew by 70%, salaries were increased military and other social groups. I hope that the next president of Russia will continue the policy specified by Vladimir Putin.
We - the young generation, and we live in a country where we were born or grew up. We must not be indifferent to its future. Russia - this is our big house that needs to be done better, richer and more developed.

The English had visited America at different times starting from the 15th century. Among them were John Cabot (1498), Sir Francis Drake (1577), Sir Humphrey Gilbert (1583) and Sir Walter Raleigh (1585).

The first successful English colony was founded in 1607 by a group of Englishmen who sailed to Virginia. They hoped to find riches. 105 men (there were no women or children at first) landed at a place they called Jamestown, after England’s King James I. They never found gold but the settlement survived partly with the help of Indians, partly because of their strong will and partly because they found tobacco which they sold to England at a very good price.

When King James I was rulling the country, many Englishmen did not like him. Many people also did not like the Church of England. That is why they wanted to leave the country. Puritans wanted to find religious freedom from the Church of England somewhere far away.

In 1620 some English families (about one hundred people) formed the group which they called the London Company. They left England from Plymouth on board the ship called Mayflower and sailed to America. Their harsh journey lasted for seven long weeks.

It was already winter when the ship reached the shores of America. The weather was terrible with rain and cold wind. First, 16 men landed and went ashore. They found some corn and brought it to the ship. The corn was left on that coast by the Indians.

Next day was Sunday. So, all the passengers of the ship had a rest. On Monday women went ashore to wash their clothes. Now in America Monday is "a wash-day".

Next five weeks men from the Mayflower left the ship and looked for a good place where they could live. The weather was getting colder and more and more people fell ill.

Finally, they found a place that seemed suitable. There was everything they needed — forests, fields, a small river and a harbour for ships. They started to build a village there which they later called New Plymouth.

King James I himself gave the Pilgrims the right to establish their own colony.

If there is one quote I would use to describe myself, it would be John Lennon’s saying:
"I’m not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I’ve always been a freak. So I’ve been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I’m one of those people."
I truly am one of those people. I was born in 1993, thirteen years after John Lennon was murdered, but he has impacted me greatly on the way I choose to live my life.
I decided at a young age to never conform to other people’s views. My mother would not admit it, but she had a plan of how she wanted me to act and look around her friends. Growing up I was always anything but ordinary girl. I wore sweatpants and sneakers to school and had friends that were more guys than girls. In fourth grade my mom started trying to dress me in "more girly" clothes. Instead of trying to please my mom I stood up for myself and continued to dress the way I wanted to, which was comfortably. From adolescence to the present I have tried my hardest to be an individual and keep away from stereotypes. I try to let people know that it is okay to be an individual even if it means standing up for yourself in awkward situations. John Lennon sat in bed for a week to inspire peace and I dressed in a crazy outfit and paraded around my camp to inspire individualism. I may not have made a worldwide impact, but when I explained to people why I dressed up foolishly a few younger campers decided to be fearless and participate in the talent show.
While watching the documentary "The U. S. vs. John Lennon" I stumbled upon a quote that Lennon said," A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality." To me this quote means that without friends and community it would be very hard to accomplish anything. We all need a helping hand, which is why I tend to push my friends into situations that may be uncomfortable but I know will benefit them in the end. This past year my friend became serious about trying to make it as a singer. She took the approach most people do and posted videos on youtube. com. Earlier this year I saw an ad for American Idol and realized that they were coming to a town not far from her house. It took much debate but I finally convinced her to tryout. Even though she did not win, she got the critique she needed and continued to further her music career. People have urged me to do things that I have not wanted to do, like performing in front of a large crowd, but I realize that I have only become a stronger person from those experiences.
Because of my friends I try to give back as much as I can and show people what I have learned about life. I may not always take the most stereotypical approach but I do what I need to do to get my point across. There are few rules I live by but the ones I do have made my journey special. For starters, never take anything too seriously or you will lose yourself in the process. If you care about something, work hard to achieve it. Help those around you prosper and you will prosper as well. John Lennon has inspired the way that I choose to live my life. He worked hard and certainly made a fool out of himself. He took an unusual approach to being outgoing and inspired millions of people. I am not at rock star status, but if I can inspire at least a few of my friends to go out on a limb and do what they want to do, then I can lead a happy life.

We constantly feel neighbourly relations with Russia: there are such vast expanses! Wealth! Oil! There are such deep-rooted traditions! The world fame and prestige! Scientific achievements! Recognized world literature, ballet, museums! And what have we? «Waving two-colored flag, teach languages, and take pride in this village lout Shevchenko!
I personally agree with what to believe Shevchenko world-famous poet too early. Or maybe it was him and not have to? Many non-Russians read Pushkin in translation? May, Shevchenko too «national»to be understood by the other peoples? Yes and in General, many artists from other literatures have a stable success abroad? Not very much, frankly. The main «suppliers» of these writers, the great Britain, Germany, USA, France. Much fewer of them is from Spain, Italy, the Eastern countries.
Take the same Russia: one of the writers constantly read, adaptations, put in the theatres of non-Russians abroad? Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Vladimir Nabokov (who wrote in English) is much less - Turgenev, Leskov, Berdyaev. And who from the Russian «Canon» is a pure Russian? The Frenchman Lermontov, an Ethiopian Pushkin, Georgians Mayakovsky or Jew Brodsky? Most of the artists and thinkers of Russia have deep influence of the Ukrainian culture, psychology, nature. Bulgakov, Berdyaev, Tsvetaeva for a long time lived in Kiev. Skovoroda, even Moscow recognized the Ukrainian philosopher, was one of the most influential teachers of Tolstoy. Just a cursory reading Gogol, to determine doublespeak, Ukrainian subject, thinking, humor, quotes from folk songs and doom.

The most bright representatives of the domestic world vision, according to the scientists, were MS. Skovoroda, T. Shevchenko N. Gogol. It is in their works we find a deep understanding it.
Ukraine is located on the fertile earth, so each Ukrainian family can fully provide for themselves and settle separately. From the earth depended on human destiny, so the connection with the land increased, as a pledge of happiness. Ukrainian understand the earth as the Holy mother, from which man was created, it was consecrated by the blood of ancestors and defenders. For a nation of farmers, the earth was the nurse. Rejoicing work on earth, Ukrainian sought to close to nature, the more interaction with people. Big space of the land brought up in it the worship of life, the sun and the earth. I live in Russia and I’m really happy. Art, architecture and culture join with virgin wilderness and sun-splashed beaches, making Russia truly an adventurous travellers wonderland. Russia has a very rich history. It’s famous for its places of interest. I can t help mentioning  that Moscow is the capital of Russia. The Kremlin is considered the heart of Moscow. There are many theatres and museums in Moscow. No doubt, the Big theatre is famous all over the world. If you go to Russia as a tourist, you should visit Moscow, Saint Petersburg and the Golden Ring of Russia. Saint Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia. I belive, You’ll be impressed by its architecture. I like Russia. I am proud of my country.
