Reading improves our Outlook and helps us to think more broadly. In addition, the reading log provides an opportunity to learn about new trends in modern life, social trends and so on. It is known that the variety of magazines on today’s market indefinitely. Thus, everyone can choose something interesting. For example, my classmate can’t wait for the latest issue of "Cosmopolitan", "Viva", etc. They believe that the articles in these journals can help in their lives. So I can say " tastes differ ". As for me, I enjoy art in any form. That’s why I’m trying to read as many interesting articles relating to modern art. I think it helps in self-realization and gives a more complete picture of the world, since it is known that art reflects all the trends that exist in society. There is one magazine that is quite useful in this exciting process. It’s called "Sho ". It positions itself as an underground art magazine. On its pages I always find something interesting to read. For convenience it is divided into sections devoted to contemporary theater, news in the field of cinema and the great films, modern literature and music. Usually, I read the reviews by different film festivals, e. g. Cannes film festival. I learn new and interesting music bands and even musical direction. On the pages devoted to tourism, I learn about the exciting attractions and opportunities to travel around the world. *********************************************** Чтение улучшает наше мировоззрение и помогает нам мыслить шире. Magazine is one of the major mass media. Magazine is a collection of articles and stories. Usually magazines also contain illustrations.
The earliest magazines developed from newspapers and booksellers catalogs. Magazines provide information on a wide range of topics such as business, culture, hobbies, medicine, religion, science, and sports. Some magazines entertain their readers with fiction, poetry, photography or articles about TV, or movie stars.
Magazines are designed to be kept for a longer time in comparison to newspapers and that is why they are printed on a better paper and have covers. Magazines, unlike newspapers, do not focus on daily, rapidly changing events.
There are specialized magazines intended for special business, industrial and professional groups, and consumer magazines intended for general public. There are several kinds of consumer magazines.
Children’s magazines contain stories, jokes, articles on subjects especially interesting for children and instructions for making games or useful items.
Hobby magazines are intended for collectors of coins, stamps, and other items; people interested in certain sports or games; photography enthusiasts.
Intellectual magazines provide analysis of current cultural and political events. Many of them publish fiction and poetry as well.
Men’s magazines focus on such topics as adventure, entertainment, men’s fashion and sports.
Women’s magazines deal with child-raising, fashion trends, romance. They offer ideas on cooking and home decorating. Many of the monthlies with big circulations are women’s magazines.

My favorite mass media is the internet. Because the information there is always up to date and you are not limited in it’s sources. This gives me possibility to analyze and draw conclusions on any subject or theme. Now, all mentioned above helps me to form my own opinion. Also internet is the fastest mass media because it requires no paper or studio. Anyone and anywhere can spread news through it.
- What’s your favorite mass media? My favorite media is the internet. Why not TV? Because on the internet you can choose what to watch and when. It’s more convenient. But when you use the internet you have to know exactly what are you looking for while TV shows you the most important things. In my opinion it’s better. I don’t agree with you. On TV they give you their understanding of the situation but I want to make up my own independent opinion. Let it be. That’s your choice. But don’t trust everything that you see on the internet. Sure. Everyone should analyze the mass media information before drawing the conclusion.

Newspapers and magazines play a very important part in our life. Practically there is no family that does not read them. We can learn many things from newspapers. Perhaps that is why many years ago an American humorous writer said: “All I know is what I see in the papers”; and another American author more than half a century ago wrote that “the careful reader of a few good newspapers can learn more in a year than most scientists do in their great libraries”.
We can agree or disagree with these statements (better to disagree, because scientific books and magazines have more information than newspapers), but we’ll have to say that newspapers help us in many ways. There are a lot of different kinds of newspapers in our country. One can buy them practically everywhere. It is impossible to read all the newspapers and magazines. Everyone has favorite ones.
My favorite newspaper is “( вставить нужное название) ”. We can read almost about everything in this newspaper. There are articles dealing with home and abroad news, sport events, life of favorite actors and singers and even the weather. We can find many interesting things there. We can read some useful pieces of advice, some stories about our life, and so on. There are puzzles, songs and even anecdotes there. “( вставить нужное название) ” is one of the most interesting newspapers, to my mind.
