MY SPARE TIME
Nowadays everybody knows that people are very busy and don’t have much time to spare. Sometimes it’s only the weekend and I think that every day-off needs some special planning. The English say: "Who knows how to work, knows how to rest". I think it’s true. In my view rest is as important as work. So I try to treasure every hour and think of the ways of having a good time in the best way possible for me.
I prefer to spend my free time with the people whose company I always enjoy. I also like to spend my spare time alone, when I’m tired and haven’t got any desire to talk to anybody, very often I want to get away from noisy streets and go to the countryside and change the scenery. On the other hand I may go to different entertainment centers such as disco clubs, art centers including cinema, theatre, concerts halls, etc.
There are people who want to broaden and enrich their knowledge during their free time. I’m among them; I go to the library or reading-hall where I can find a lot of books written by my favorite writers and poets. I must add that I never have enough time to enjoy reading and more often read a book or a magazine late in the evening. Or I can go to the museums and picture galleries where I can see the works of well-known painters and sculptors of all times. I don’t forget the computer – my greatest helper in searching for knowledge.
If you want to be strong and healthy, go in for sports. There are many sports clubs, swimming-pools, gymnasiums and sport grounds for everybody who loves sports. Sport will make you not only healthier and stronger, but kinder, more sociable, cheerful and even wiser. Sport will give you its strength and energy and you’ll become a greater admirer of life with all its problems and wonders. (As for me I.)
Moreover, there are a lot of people, who prefer less energetic activities, such as chess, cards, crosswords.
And don’t forget about hobbies. You should have at least one, it’ll help you to relax, dream and enjoy lifer. There are so many hobbies to choose: painting, computer programming, photography, fishing, gardening, cooking, walking, learning languages, collecting something and what not. It’s a pleasure to see lots of things made with your own hands, to look through a large collection of old and rare coins, books or stamps, to present your friends with the pictures and drawings created by yourself, to amuse everyone with your green winter garden at home. So, look around more carefully and you’ll find your own and the only one (or even more). Hobbies give people moments of pride and excitement but take a lot of time, energy and even money.
Tastes differ and if you have chosen a hobby according to your character and taste you are lucky. (So my hobby is.)
Travelling is also a good way to spend my spare time. Visiting new places, seeing sights and meeting new people is a very exciting and useful relaxation. I can go hiking. In summer I like to be outdoors from morning till night, sunbathing, walking barefoot on the grass. My family or my friends are the very people to go with to the riverbank, to the forest or to the seashore. It’s really wonderful to put up a tent, make a fire and spend time in a picturesque place.
People are dreamers, our dreams are different but each person chooses his own way of spending free time, either passive or active. In any case leisure should be refreshment and a source of inspiration. Это как я провожу время.

Most people have hobbies and interests which they prefer doing in their free time. As for me, I don’t get much free time, especially on weekdays. However, at weekends I try to do the activities I like most of all. They are skating, bowling, dancing, swimming, reading, listening to music and going out with my friends. When I have spare time I love reading books, especially romantic novels and detective stories. When I want something relaxing, I listen to music. My favorite band at the moment is Linkin Park. Occasionally I go for a walk with my best friends. We chat about everything, and sometime we even gossip about other classmates. I plan my weekends in advance. If I don’t have my own plans my friends usually offer me something exciting.

They normally like action films, comedies, musicals, thrillers and cartoons. Sometimes the ways young people spend their free time varies according to the country, as they sometimes depend on national traditions. For example, in the USA young people normally like different types of popular culture which originated in their country like blues, different kinds of rock, country music and hip hop in music and pop art in fine arts. The sports they are doing are more often than not those which originated in America like baseball, auto-racing, basketball, and board-based recreational sports — surfboarding, skateboarding and snowboarding. American youngsters are fond of eating out and eat a lot of junk food like hambuigers and cheeseburgers and drink Coca-cola or Pepsi. British youngsters are really fond of watching football matches and sorts of races such as horse-racing, boat-racing and even dog-racing, as well as playing football, rugby and golf and taking part in races. They are really fond of pets and often spend some time in the evening taking their dog for a walk. In going out for the evening, they still prefer pubs to restaurants, bars and cafes. In music, their tastes are nearly the same as those of their American peers. In Germany young people prefer drinking beer when meeting their friends and spending much time doing various sports. In Spain many youngsters, as well as older people, are fond of watching bullfighting. In France they like listening to French chanson
After working hard, people should use free time to relax, not to work more. Therefore, I usually spend my free time to entertain. Every day, I have a little time to listen to music at night. It makes me easier to go to sleep. On the weekend, I don’t need to go to school, so I can choose many ways to spend my free time. Bookstore is and ideal place for me because I really want to read my favorite books, sometimes comics. If my mom is free, she will tell me to go shopping with her. And I can buy whatever I like such as new pants, a silver watch, etc. I also help her buy necessary things that should be in the kitchen, then we will have dinner together at home. Internet is a big world that is never boring, so I can spend opening the Internet in rush hours when I have free time. I read online news, watch some video clips or chat with my friends. I don’t have much free time but when I manage to find some I like to spend it in an active way. I usually take my dog for a walk and do some jogging. If there is a chance I take my bike from garage ang I ride for hours. I go on trips and I have already visited most of the villages near the place I live. Besides, it’s good for my health and moreover, after this my brain works more effective. I’m good at swimming. When I have an opportunity I go to the swimming-pool. Sometimes I play computer games or surf the Internet. In the evening I watch TV. I like action and comedy movies. Like most teenagers I often listen to the music and when I have some money I go to the concerts or to the discos with my friends. In general I’m trying to spend my free time outdoors.
