How are you? The New Year’s day is coming! How are you going to celebrate it? I will celebrate it at home with my family. We usually decorate the New Year tree and our house. My mother and grandmother make a lot of tasty things and a delicious cake. My sister helps to lay the table and wash the dishes. My father and grandfather make barbecue. It is our favorite dish.
New Year is one of the most favorite holidays in our family. We spend our free time together and exchange gifts. Last year I got a game console and some books. I liked both presents

Hello, Ann! I was very glad to get a letter from you. 
Today it is the 29th of December. Soon we’ll celebrate NEW YEAR. It is a great holiday in Russia. We give  presents to all relatives and all  friends.  
We decorate trees, houses,  and I like walking in the street when everywhere you see beautiful decorations. It is a family holiday. I like when my family gather together, we cook differents dishes, we lay the table, we sit, watch TV and talk, we sing and dance. After midnight we go to the street  we walk, dance, sing, play, it is fun!
How do you celebrate New Year? Do you like it? What presents do you like to get?

Dear Sandra, 
Thanks for your lovely letter. In this country we also begin preparing for the New Year holiday beforehand. People decorate New Year’s trees, send New Year’s greetings to their friends and relatives, cook delicious things for the New Year party. All are cheerful and merry on the eve of the NY’s Day.
For me, the  New Year’s holiday is one the most beloved ones. It is our family holiday and  I usually  see it in ( to see in- встречать праздник) with my Mum, Dad and other relatives. At about 10 p. m. we begin to see the Old Year off. (начинаем провожать Старый год) We all sit at a big round table, covered with white table-cloth. Of course, there are a lot of tasty things on the table. We eat, tell funny stories, laugh, listen to music, dance and have fun.
Then we switch on TV to watch some holiday show and at 12 sharp we listen to the Kremlin Chimes  (Бой курантов), cry  ’Hurray’  ’Cheers’ and then we give presents to each other wishing Happy New year to each other, and go out to see the NY’s salut. After a short walk we return home and go to bed or watch holiday programmes.

I liked my last New Year Eve and New Year day and Christmas because_I had a nice rest during all these holidays__.
On _New Year Eve  we had a wonderful_school party_ for two hours.
At_the party_we danced to modern music and played with Father Christmas different games and then got sweet presents from_him.
All the evening we were very busy but happy at home.
The next day we were_ at the theatre and watched_the performance"_New Year fairy tale". It was awesome.
On Christmas Day__our relatives came to see us and we had a wonderful holiday dinner together_.
