The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is situated on the British Isles. It consists of four parts: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. England, Wales and Scotland occupy the territory of Great Britain. Northern Ireland is situated in the northern part of Ireland. The territory of the United Kingdom is about 244,000 square kilometres, it takes the 75th place among other countries in the world. The population is more than 57 million. About 80% of the population is urban. The capital of the country is London. Great Britain is separated from the continent by the English Channel which is 34 km wide in its narrowest point. The country is also washed by the North Sea, the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The surface of Great Britain varies greatly. The northern and western parts of the country is mountainous and is called the Highlands. All the rest (south, east and centre) is a vast plain which is called the Lowlands. The mountains are not very high. The rivers are not long. The most important of them are the Severn, the Thames, the Trent. There are many beautiful lakes in the mountainous parts of the country. The mountains, the Atlantic Ocean and the warm waters of the Gulf Stream influence the climate of Great Britain. It is mild the whole year round. Great Britain is a highly developed industrial country. It is known as one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of iron and steel products, machinery and electronics, chemicals and textile, aircraft and navigation equipment. One of the chief industries of the country is shipbuilding. 7 per cent of the population is engaged in farming. Great Britain is a country with old cultural traditions and customs. The most famous educational centres are Oxford and Cambridge universities. They are considered to be the intellectual centres of Europe. The education is not free, it is very expensive. The United Kingdom is a monarchy and the Queen is the head of the state. But in practice it is ruled by the 
elected government with a Prime Minister at the head. The British Parliament consists of two chambers: the House of Lords and the House of Commons. It sits in the House of Parliament in Westminster.
There are three main political parties in Great Britain: the Labour, the Conservative and the Liberal parties. The Labour party with Antony Blair at the head is the ruling party nowadays. There’s no written constitution in Great Britain only precedents and traditions.

Moscow is the capital of Russia. It is one of the biggest and most beautiful cities in the world. Moscow is a modern city now. Moscow is a political centre. There are many monuments and places to see in Moscow like  The Bolshoi Theatre  or the Tretyakov Gallery, also you  can see the Kremlin and Red Square. There are many marvellous buildings, wide streets, green parks, large squares, churches and monuments in Moscow. Every year a lot of people visit Moscow to see the sights of the beautiful city !

St Petersburg

St Petersburg is  a wonderful city which has got many interesting things to see like The Winter Palace, the Hermitage, the Russian Museum etc.

 It’s also famous for its stunning white nights.

St. Petesburg is a city of  broad straight avenues, green parks, countless bridges and canals.

Thus it’s worth visiting! 

Sumy – regional and cultural centre of Sumy region. The city is famous for its unique history, legends and sights. One of the legends connected with the name of the city. Sumy is located on the banks of two rivers: the bag Bag. According to legend, there were found bags of hunters, hence the name, and rivers, and the city itself.   The city of Sumy in Ukraine was founded in 1655, although some sources indicate the year 1652. But, modern historians have come to the conclusion that it is not correct to assume a later date. Despite the fact that the city of Sumy on the map only appeared in 1655, the people on his lands were inhabited for many centuries before that.   In Sumy in Ukraine a lot of beautiful architectural monuments, historical sights, here is the perfect place to spend time in parks, squares, cozy cafes and restaurants, which are rich in tourist map of Sumy. Lovers of history and art can visit the city’s museums, galleries, admire the ancient temples and cathedrals.   Most of the cathedrals and monasteries were built in the 17th-19th centuries, so today they represent a historical value. New Year is celebrated from December 31 to January 1. May best day ever. May whole family went to the lake. After a long journey we made camp. We swam in the lake. Fished. The lake was very clean. We roasted meat. We sunbathed. Played different games. So this day was the best in may life. Мой лучший день. Мы всей семьёй поехали на озеро. Рыбачили. Озеро было очень чистое. Мы жарили мясо. Мы загорали. Играли в разные игры. Поэтому этот день был лучший.

Ideal notions of ordinary things are embodied in human’s dreams. Relationships, life, country are subject of dreams. English-speaking countries are central object of my dreams. I want to talk about GB is standard of English language and English culture. Just this country plays an important role of my life.
United Kingdom is the country where everyone can find a place. Artists, photographers, writers and other creative people are searching inspiration there. The monuments of different epochs are located in England. GB is famous with the haunted house, the historic and worldwide famous universities, the famous English pubs, etc.
London is the capital of Great Britain. That’s bright, noisy, full of people, ideas and active life in the center of Britain. Silence, peace, of London are full of complete image of old city. Almost every part of country is travel in the past. Every street, every park, every square have its history. Nobody can get tired or bored there. “Tired of London is tired of life,” Samuel Johnson.
The United Kingdom is famous for the weather, rather wet and foggy climate. For smb it’s curst but for me it’s attractive. I don’t like rain but I like the wet London. I think I haven’t many supporters, and Oscar Wilde is among the people who would challenge my opinion. He told “I don’t desire to change anything in England except the weather”.
I think now is the time to discuss the English culture. English tea, the punctual and friendly Englishman is an integral part of the submissions of the UK. I cannot say about loyalty of these words because I’ve never been there. We can only trust the eyewitnesses and enjoy the sweet picture of the country.
England has a great variety of historical, literary and cinematic monuments. Incidentally the word “monument” is not only the architectural building, but also the cultural heritage.
Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, Tower Bridge and Stonehenge are the famous historical monuments.
I have a special attitude to literary monuments. Many talented people, whose childhood is associated with England, were world famous. For example: Arthur Conan Doyle is famous for the stories about the great detective Sherlock Holmes, Daniel Defoe is famous for the novel Robinson Crusoe, Joanne Rowling wrote the series of novels about Harry Potter. Creativity of Arthur Conan Doyle was reflected on the streets of London: the regular museum flat of Sherlock Holmes and monument to Mr. Holmes was opened in London on Bakes street 221B (It must be noted that these attractions the British government has classified a historical monument). Wilcock village in Wiltshire and Gallery of Gloucester Cathedral in Gloucester are known by every admirer of the novels about Harry Potter by JK Rowling.
I would have classified the series of Harry Potter and the TV series Sherlock to modern famous movies of English cinema. Famous actors, who have played the top roles in these films, come from England. There are Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch. I cannot mention the world famous British actors, talking about the UK film industry. There are Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Helena Bonham Carter, etc.
Everything written above is important in my life. When I read the works of Conan Doyle, JK Rowling, I have met with the UK since childhood, their works instilled me love to England. It’s the only thing that I can explain my affection. There are moments when in my head spinning thoughts in English appear, and I do not think about their translation, I simply understand them. My English teacher said that the best way to learn English is to learn to think in English. And I think that writing about favorite country the UK and without the knowledge of the English culture - it is unnatural and illogical. I. Alekseev said: ". to love England - it means to be an Englishman."
 

I was born in Izhevsk. It is a my native town so I know it very well. The most exciting place for me is (само место),  because there you can find modern atmoshere, polite people, who look after that so it is clean there. One of the most usefull quality of this old/not old  place it is quite near my home that’s way I have to go not so far to visit it and it’s not so dangerous. There are a lot of people at evening so it’s much crowded, noizey and polluted and angry assistents can become rude. But at morning this place is empty and even boring. You can be safe there in that time.
