Вода содержит около 12 тысяч токсичных элементов. Плутоний, уран, цезий, торий, стронций, являющиеся радиоактивными, приводят к генетическим изменениям, онкологическим образованиям, врожденным порокам, ослаблению иммунитета. Тяжелые металлы, которые находятся в воде: свинец, никель, кадмий, хром, ртуть, цинк, вызывают гипертонию, полиневрит, атеросклероз, снижение остроты зрения, поражение костного мозга. Фосфор и азот, попав в организм человека, ослабляют его иммунитет, а также вызывают рост в водопроводных станциях и разнообразных скважинах сине-зеленых водорослей, которые плохо поддаются фильтрации и помимо этого образуют около 300 опасных токсинов. С питьевой водой в организм человека могут попасть всевозможные микробы, возбудители многих инфекционных и паразитарных заболеваний: холера, брюшной тиф, дракункулез, лямблиоз, вирусный гепатит, полиомиелит, дизентерия, сальмонеллезы, шистосомозы и становятся причиной гастроэнтерита, гепатита, миокардита и различного вида кишечных расстройств, которые связаны с загрязнением питьевой воды канализационными и сточными водами.
Каждый человек в среднем потребляет в сутки 2,7 литра воды: 1,3 литра для питья, 1,1 литр для приготовления пищи. Среднестатистическая норма потребления воды - 200 литров в сутки - обеспечивает мытье, работу сливных бачков и стирку. 18 – 20 % воды, поступающей в очищенном виде в водопроводную сеть, просто вытекает через прохудившиеся трубы в результате аварий. В связи с увеличением расходов воды приходится сокращать цикл ее обработки, что может сказываться на ее качестве.
Загрязнение водоемов химическими элементами, которые могут попасть туда со сбросами промышленных сточных вод, приводят к опасным и трудноизлечимым заболеваниям. Например ртуть или кадмий, вызывают характерные заболевания: меркуриоз (болезнь Минамата), характеризующуюся нарушениями слуха, зрения, осязания, неврологическими расстройствами; и кадмиоз (болезнь Итай – итай) при которой отмечаются сильные боли, деформация скелета, поражение почек, переломы скелета.

Alternative Energy Source: Another effective way to prevent air pollution is to use alternative energy sources such as solar energy, hydroelectric energy, and wind energy. Nowadays, sophisticated technologies such as wind turbine, solar water heaters are introduced to generate electricity and other energy forms for household uses. Saving Energy: Saving energy will, of course, help to prevent air pollution. Switch off the lights, fans, air conditioners, televisions, and other appliances, when not in use. You can also share a room with others when the air conditioner or fan is on, instead of switching them on in every room. Minimize Air Pollutants: Always try to minimize smoke emission, as it contributes a lot to air pollution. One way is to compost dried leaves and kitchen waste, instead of burning them. Composting will also give you organic fertilizer for your garden. Other tips include replacing old wood stoves or gas furnaces, avoiding solvents, and most importantly, do not smoke in the home. Recyclable Materials: Recycling is a simple approach to reduce pollution in two ways; save energy which is required for disposing and minimize the pollutants released during manufacturing. The list of recyclable materials include plastic bottles, aluminum cans and utensils, paper, craft papers, cardboard, corrugated boxes, and glass bottles. Smart Purchasing: Remember to carry paper bags and minimize using plastic bags. While buying the products, always choose air-friendly and recyclable products that will minimize the emission of pollutants. Also, shop for only energy-efficient appliances that use less packaging. Lastly, buy rechargeable batteries for frequently used devices. Social awareness about air pollution is the most essential step to be taken for the prevention of air pollution. Awareness programs and/or advertisements should be encouraged, so that people understand the potential health hazards of pollution. Environmental pollution is one of the largest problems in our today’s world. It can be defined as a contamination of air, water and land from man-made waste. Nowadays there aren’t any cities and hardly any rural areas that remain clean and unpolluted.
There are a lot of different types of pollution among which the most recognized are air and water pollution, soil and radioactive contamination, littering, noise, light and thermal pollution. Unfortunately, most of the problems are the result of human activities. Indeed, the contradictions between man and nature are on a high level.
People cut down forests and thus damage thousands of acres of land. First of all, the soil  can be easily blown away and secondly, even if new trees are planted, they can’t bring back the old forests that were a part of a complex ecosystem that cleaned the air and made home for wildlife.
Big industrial cities produce a lot of waste every day. It’s either thrown away or dug up which leads to the releasing of dangerous chemicals into the soil. Very often toxic or poisonous liquid chemicals are poured into the water therefore people’s health is put at risk. However, they are themselves responsible for this.
Water and air pollution are also a serious threat to our environment. The main factors contributing to them are car fumes, oil spills, throwing litter and many others. Polluted air and water affect people’s health to such an extent that millions of them have got no access to safe drinking water.
In conclusion, it must be said that if we want to live in a better and healthier world we should take great care of our mother nature and learn to protect it.

To start with, everything what is going on with the climate is really serious because arctic ice has begun melting so that it can lead to the global elevation of the ocean level. Moreover, climate changing can be caused by the air pollution. Our plants produce a lot of harmful substances which destroy the ozone layer and solar radiation can cause overheating of the planet. Besides, changing climate is very dangerous for animals and all human beings because our habitat is also changing.
But some people are of opinion that global warming and climate changing are not connected to human factors, that people are only trying to make their life better and more comfortable. And everything what we do has only a positive purpose. And finally most people consider that nature and its resources are unlimited and it can bear any thing what we do to it.
In conclusion, I believe, humans should protect nature and appreciate what it gives to us, because we are all children of nature. And the matter of climate changing should be taken seriously too.
