Winter holiday is over. School has begun. But I will remember my last winter holiday for a long time. I went on a fantastic trip in January.
My mum and I went to the third capital of our country, the city of Kazan.
It’s the city of contrasts, the crossroads of two worlds-the West and the East.
Really it’s a place where the West peacefully exists side by side with the East.
We went to Kazan by train. It’s more comfortable than going by bus and less expensive than going by plane. The city is on the left bank of the Volga, eight hundred kilometres from Moscow. One night on the train and we found ourselves in the capital of Tatarstan. The guide told us that more than 2 million people visit Kazan every year. More than one million people live in Kazan. (It ranks six in Russia)
The weather was fine. All the time it was only about seven degrees below zero. We saw a lot of interesting sights but most of all I was impressed by the Kremlin, where there is a marvelous muslim mosque, and nearby the 16th-century cathedral with the Spasskaya Tower; and the Palace of the President of Tatarstan and much more. We went on an excursion "The Evening Kazan" and saw beautifully decorated with New Year illumination fairy-tale capital of Tatarstan. Transport in London
London is a huge metropolitan area that is why public transport is vitally important for the city dwellers as well as tourists, for whom it might be quite confusing to get about London. Unlike Russian public transport, British transport system is reliable and quite cheap. However, due to the increase of car ownership, London traffic has become 3 times as heavy as it used to be and the length of the traffic jams increased dramatically. As a result, the problem of fatal car accidents appeared.
Apart from taxies, there are 2 main methods of transport in London: the Underground and the buses. Buses are best for sightseeing, especially double-decker buses. However, they are rather slow, especially during the rush hour. On the traditional double-decker there were no doors and passengers leaped up and off the bus and conductor was moving about and collecting fares from the passengers. However, nowadays fares are given directly to the driver or to the machine. Moreover, London transport has recently introduced single-decker buses which are called "Red Arrows".
London Underground, which is also called Tube, offers people more convenient, speedy and direct form of travel. The Underground was opened at the end of the 19th century, in 1884. Now there are more than 270 stations. You can recognize the Tube stations by the red and blue signs at the street level. There is no fixed fare, because it depends on the distance you travel. You can buy a ticket or a ticket-stub from a booking office clerk or from a machine. There are 8 different underground lines in the London Underground system. The travelers, who are not familiar with the Tube, should always consult the map.
So, London transport system is rapid and fast, but sometimes it can be really confusing.

My favorite kind of transport is a usual bus. It is very comfortable and fast transport. I always move to school by him. Besides, i like spending time watching throught the window to different buildings. Nowadays using the buses is enought expensive but you always can buy monthly ticket which give you permission to go by bus for all month long. There is only one thing, which dissapoint me. At 5 o’ clock people back from their jobs and the empty places in the bus. But it is not big problem, because you can alway wait the next one. I think, that the bus is not only comfortable kind of transport but interesting too

Today, we have many ways to move people and things around. There are cars, boats, planes, and trains. There are big trucks. Well, as we know all, these are all forms of transportation. These of course make our life alot easier when we need to go on to another place. Long ago, people had to walk to get where they wanted to go. Then someone tamed horse, and that’s where the ideas started to grow having all these forms now. I prefer to use my car because it’s alot easier and comfortable. Я очень люблю ездить на легковом автомобиле. Чем меня привлекает данный транспорт? Тем что можно свободно передвигаться и не зависеть от расписания общественного транспорта, а еще на машине здорово путешествовать по России, ведь в России столько красивых мест, достопримечательностей которые хочется увидеть. Очень здорово после целого дня путешествия насмотревшись на красивые, запоминающиеся места, можно лечь на заднее сидение и уснуть до самого города. Автомобиль дает нам свободу в своем перемещении. А еще у меня есть мечта отправится на машине"дом на колесах" путешествовать по Европе, это просто должно быть замечательно. Ведь в таком автомобиле можно и спать и кушать, не нужно возвращаться домой после целого дня путешествий. Сейчас делают такие комфортные автомобили что от некоторых просто захватывает дух. На мой взгляд автомобиль это лучшее что могли придумать люди.
