I’m fond of reading. Usually I borrow books from the library, but I have a lot of them at home, too. I like to read books about the history of our country, about famous people and the life of my contemporaries abroad. Literature means much in my life. It helps to form the character and the world outlook, to understand life better. There are some names in Russian and foreign literatures that are very dear to me. In Russian literature I value Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev (1818-1883) highly. For me he is a real intellectual and aristocrat, a man of culture, devoted to literature, music and painting. Though he lived abroad for a long time he didn’t stop to be a Russian writer for a moment. He created a number of national characters in his books. The image of urgency’s woman, deeply feeling, faithful and tender is an ideal of a Russian woman for me. It doesn’t lose its charm even today. Turgenev’s descriptions of nature are delightful too. Take for example his «Byezhin Prairie», «Torrents of spring» etc. Turgenev’s prose is very poetic. His style is perfect; his dialogues are easy-read, interesting, life-like, and yet always significant. One may think that Turgenev is too balanced, too poetic for the new age, but one must admit that these are the qualities we badly lack today. Of the present day writers and poets I like Eugene Evtushenko, Valentin Rasputin, Valentin Pikul, Boris Vasilyev, Tatyana Tolstaya, Andrei Dementyev. Their books are very humane and realistic. They assert high moral principles into life. And this is very important nowadays. My favorite foreign writer is O’Henry. In childhood I was deeply impressed by his story «The Last Leaf. Since». Since then I bear in my heart the image of a young girl suffering from incurable illness and her friends doing everything they can to give her hope and bring back to life. The author penetrates deeply into a person’s soul and reveals its best qualities. He obviously sympathises with common people, describes their feelings to other people, their warm-heartedness and kindness.

O. Henry
The real name of the writer is William Sydney Porter. He was born in North Carolina, the USA in the family of a doctor. His mother died when he was three. And his aunt who had a private
school, stimulated his reading and storytelling. Porter worked as a clerk in his uncle’s drugstore for 5 years. But he wanted to see a new places and he went to Texas. Soon he married and when a daughter was born, Porter was a happy father. But his happiness didn’t last long. One day a theft of a thousand dollars was discovered at the Bank where he worked. But it wasn’t he who had taken the money, and he left the town and went to Central America. But when he heard that his wife was very ill, he returned home. And was found guilty and put to the prison for 3 years. Porter very often thought about his little daughter. She was living with her relatives and was told that her father had gone far away, and would not return soon. And he want to make some Christmas present for his daughter. Porter decided to write a story and sent it to one of the American magazines. This story was published, and his daughter received a present. Porter had signed the story O’Henry - the first pen-name that came into his had. In 1901 he was released from prison. He continued to write short stories for different magazines. And very soon he became one of the most popular short-story writers in America. During the short period of his literary activity O. Henry wrote 273 short stories and one novel "Cabbages and Kings". It’s a great writer.

Joseph Addison (Joseph Addison) (1672-1719), English writer and statesman, co-author R. Steele journal "Spectator". Born may 1, 1672 in Melstone (Wiltshire), in the family of a priest. In 1683 his father became a priest of the Cathedral in Lichfield, and Joseph enrolled in the local school Latin grammar. In 1686 was adopted at Charterhouse school in London, where he met R. Steele. From 1687 in 1699 he studied at Oxford University, first in Queens ’ College, then in Modlin College. In 1691 became the bachelor, in 1693 - the master. In 1698 he entered graduate school Modlin College. Addison gained fame as a scientist and a poet, he struck up a friendship with D. Dryden and the U. Congreve. My favorite writer Alexander Kuprin. Reading his works, I do not get tired amazed his talent. We had a unique ability to Kuprina - create extraordinarily lively, vibrant images that are stored on the reader all my life. Kuprin was amazingly versatile man who all his life sought to knowledge, mastered and studied various sciences. Upon his retirement, the great Russian writer dabbled in dentistry, worked as a journalist, he served in the church, moonlighting as a loader. Great October Revolution in 1917 Kuprin was unable to, so he emigrated from the country. Twenty years that he lived abroad, writer dreamed of returning to his homeland, he was concerned about the fate of Russia and former compatriots. According to his contemporaries, Alexander always looked at life optimistically, was energetic and upbeat. That’s how it works - they beat key, striking in their vigor and dynamism. Most Kuprina heroes - people with very pure and kind soul who hate the humiliation of others, striving for freedom and universal happiness. Almost all the characters of Kuprina keen sense of justice. One of my favorite characters is a writer Lieutenant Romashov - the protagonist of the story " Duel". One of the main themes of the works of my favorite writer Kuprina was the theme of love. Love, according Kuprina this feeling that requires dedication, it is stronger and more important than anything else. That kind of love we can see in the product Kuprina "Olesya". Her love is full of tragedy and sadness.

One of my favorite authors is John Green. He is British writer and youtuber (the man who wakes YouTube videos, his and his brother Hank’s channel named vlogbrothers). So, today John has three books - The Fault In Our Stars, Paper Towns, Looking For Alaska. And every single one of them are translated into Russian. His ’The Fault In Our Stars’ is New Yourk Times bestseller. It’s the wonderful love story about girl named Hazel Grace and boy named Augustus Waters. Hazel’s desease is cancer. She has no friends and she doesn’t do to school. So she met him, Augustus. She gives him a book called ’Imperial Affliction’. They go to another country to see the author of the book. But he isn’t a smart, nice and genius man. He’s just an old, angry and stupid man. So, at the end of the story Augustus dies. All John’s books are love stories. Wonderful, amazing, unique love stories. One day, hopefully, I will talk to John, because I know, he is a great human being. I really hope that the most of readers will love his books for it’s flawless.

Английский: Reading - a nice and useful part of our lives. People love to read. I think so, because a lot of books bought and sold every day in various bookshops and also on the streets. Of course, radio and television are more popular among the people, but the book still play an important role for us. Reading enriches the mind. It can meet the many different needs and literary tastes. It reveals to us his own world of life that sometimes cruel or sad, and sometimes - joyful and fantastic. Русский :  Чтение – приятная и полезная часть нашей жизни. Люди любят читать. Я так думаю, потому что много книг покупается и продается ежедневно в разных книжных магазинах и также на улицах. Конечно, радио и телевидение более популярны среди людей, но книги все еще играют важную роль для нас. Чтение обогащает наш ум. Оно может удовлетворить множество разных потребностей и литературных вкусов. Оно открывает нам свой собственный мир жизни, который иногда жесток или печален, а иногда – радостен и фантастичен.    

Омар Хайям – выдающаяся личность средневекового Востока, один из ученых своего времени, философ, математик, астроном, полиглот и поэт. Славу принесли ему небольшие четверостишия – рубаи. Они поражают философской глубиной и лаконичностью форм, смелостью мыслей и любовью к жизни. Четверостишия, соединенные в один сборник «Рубайят», разнообразные по своей тематике. Здесь есть и размышления о смысле человеческой жизни, о бесконечности познания, о справедливости и достоинстве. Вечные ценности жизни, радость и печаль бытия раскрываются в бессмертных стихах Хайяма. My favorite book is a work of Gabriel Topolsky "White Bim Black Ear".  Big city. Single man and a devoted dog lived in the same apartment. They were very attached to each other. But once the owner was taken to the hospital. He managed to say to Bim only one word "Wait!" And the dog understood him, and he was waiting.
Unfortunately, there are quite a lot of evil and unpleasant people, they were on Bim’s way in the image one of the angry old woman who hated dogs, a bad man who collected dog’s collars and a hunter from a small village.
But fortunately, there are kind and responsive people in this world too, and they tried to help the poor dog.
The story of Gabriel Topolsky "White Bim Black Ear" teaches us to be kind and tolerant, faithful and loyal.  Good people took the most active part in Bim’s fate.
The story shows us that hatred and betrayal are the lowest traits of human.
A small boy faced with cruelty adults, he said the most important words and he called us to goodness and mercy, compassion and empathy.
It’s my favorite book. I like it very much.
Моя любимая книга-это произведение Габриэля Тобольского "Белый Бим Черное Ухо". Большой город. Человек и преданная собака живут в той же квартире. Они очень привязаны друг к другу. Но однажды хозяин был доставлен в больницу. Он успел сказать Биму только одно слово : "Ждать!" И пес понял его и стал ждать. К сожалению, существует довольно много зла и неприятных людей, они встретились на пути Бима в образе одной из разъяренной пожилой женщины, ненавидевшей собак, плохого мужчины, который собирал собачьи ошейники  и охотника из маленькой деревушки.
Но, к счастью, есть много добрых и отзывчивых людей, в этом мире, и они старались помочь бедной собаке.
Произведение Габриэля Тобольского"Белый Бим Черное Ухо" учит нас быть добрее и терпимее, вернее и преданнее. Хорошие люди приняли самое активное участие в судьбе Бима. В рассказе нам показывают, что ненависть и предательство являются самыми низкими чертами характера человека.
Маленький мальчик столкнулся с жестокостью взрослых, и он сказал, самые важные слова, и он призвал нас к добру и милосердию, состраданию и сочувствию.

I have read many books, however I appreciate authors of adventure writings. These days I read Harry Potter, which is written by J. K. Rowling. Therefore my favorite writer is J. K. Rowling. The Harry Potter is a main writing of J. K. Rowling. The book is separated to 7 parts. Actually, I read a number 2 named Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. J. K. Rowling’s second book is just as funny, frightening and unexpected as her first, Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone.
She is known as a writer of world famous Harry Potter series. Needless to say, she received several awards such as Hans Christian Andersen Award or The Edinburg Award. The magazine Forbes estimated on February 2004 her property approximately about 576 million pounds, nevertheless she is the first millionaire, who gained all money by writing books. At the moment, she is the richest woman on British Isles.
J. K. Rowling was born in July 1965 in England and grew up in Chepstow. She earned a French and Classics degree. Joanne visited Paris for one year and after the return, she started work as a researcher at Amnesty International among other jobs. She got an idea about Harry Potter book during the train journey from Manchester to London. At the final stop, she had created all the figures and the basic plot of a first part called Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone. Then, she moved to the Portugal where she got married. In 1993 she gave a birth to her daughter Jessica Rowling. When the marriage ended, she returned back to the Edinburg. The first Harry Potter was published in June 1997. Further six parts of book were published in the next 10 years. To tell the truth, the second title Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was number 1 in the adult hardback bestseller charts for a month after publication. All parts are translated to 44 world languages. Rowling has written two supplement books, too.
No doubt, she is the greatest writer of adventure books because of her talent. I admire her verbal skills and style of writing.

The book is at the same time amazing and exciting. Rowling uses rather folk sentences and phrases, which are understandable.
Book explains life of young wizard Harry throughout his childhood. Harry is in his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Little does he know that this year will be just as eventful as the last. with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
Her books in particularly have a deep impact on my mind, therefore, that is why she is my favorite author.
