В письме ты должна написать кому-то. Это может быть друг, учитель (обычно в учебниках объясняют, кому и на какую тему писать это самое письмо). Например, может быть задание "Ваш друг иностранец. Опишите ему свою страну и расскажите о ее достопримечательностях" и ты начинаешь все описывать этому другу иностранцу и отвечать на его вопросы, которые он задал в письме.  
А в сочинении, ты не пишешь ответ своему другу, а ты (чаще всего) рассуждаешь на какую-то тему. Вот например, у тебя есть задание "Напишите сочинение на тему: моя главная цель в жизни". Ты даже в вопросах уже можешь увидеть различие сочинения от письма, ведь в письме, тебя просят рассказать, а в сочинении тебе надо не только написать "твою главную цель в жизни", но и объяснить, почему ты так считаешь.

Была найдена икона, которая пришивалась к одежде, есть версия что эта икона принадлежала капилану кавалерии ЕЕ Величества укомплектованной высокопоставленными и высокородными потданными ЕЕ Величиства. Или являлась именной иконой…. Судя по надписи внизу.  
Хотелось бы узнать имя этого солдата Англии и ЕЕ Королевского Величества, поискав в архивах. Капиланов не могло быть много в одной кавалерийской бригаде. Думаю что надежда есть … 
И помянуть убитого по христианскому обычаю.
