Every day we need some information. It may be information of all kinds: about sport, about study. There are many ways to receieve any information you need: from newspapers and magazines, TV and radio programmes. Of course, radio is less popular than newspapers or TV. As for me I listen to the radio only in the car. I don’t listen to the radio at school or at home expect the time when I do my homework. But very seldom, because I have internet and i prefer listening some music and news using it not radio. There are a lot of different kinds of mass media : TV, radio, newspapers, internet. As for me I prefer TV and internet. TV - is the most popular and usual for people of different ages. The main aim of TV is entertainment. When I have a spare(free) time, I watch sport programmes and some important and interesting films. I hate news because they are boring or very cruel. I like some quizes, but numerous talk- and reality-shows are not for me. That’s why all neseccary information I look for in the Internet. It takes me a few time. It’s comfortable and helps me in my studies.

Средства Массовой Информации стали неотъемлемой частью нашего общества. Среди них выделяют прессу, радио и телевидение, чьи основные функции – сообщать новую информацию, образовывать и развлекать. Я уверена, что миллионы людей не могут жить без телевидения, эта неотъемлемая часть жизни каждого человека. Даже если мы не смотрим телевизор, он зачастую работает просто для фона. Тоже самое с радио. Мы слушаем радио, когда принимаем пищу или делаем работу по дому. Радио эфир главным образом ценится благодаря музыкальным программам. Что касается телевидения, существует огромное количество программ, из которых каждый может выбрать передачу по своему вкусу. Телевидение предлагает нашему вниманию такое количество информации, что мы зачастую теряемся в этом потоке. Благодаря телевидению мы узнаем о социальных, экономических и политических событиях как в нашей стране, так и зарубежном. Мы узнаем об открытиях в сфере науки и о проблемах, затрагивающих различные сферы нашей жизни. Существует большое количество различных шоу, художественных фильмов и игровых программ, которые развлекают нас и помогают нам расслабиться после рабочего дня. Газеты также способны предоставить нам любую информацию. В них печатаются статьи о последних мировых событиях и событиях государственного значения, всевозможные слухи, рекламу, смешные истории, биографии известных людей и т. Д. Существуют газеты и журналы для людей всех возрастных групп, где можно найти любые новости, информацию о важнейших событиях, отчеты из сферы образования, спортивные обзоры, статьи о культурной жизни, развлечениях и моде. Еще одним источником информации, который также стоит упомянуть, является реклама. Реклама в СМИ – наиболее эффективный способ содействовать продаже различных товаров и помочь людям понять, чего они хотят. Я думаю, было бы трудно представить нашу жизнь без СМИ.

I believe millions of people can’t live without TV; it’s an integral part of everyone’s life. Even if we don’t watch it, it can be switched on just for the background. The same thing is with radio. We listen to it whenever we have meals or do work around the house. Radio broadcasts are valued mainly for their music programs. As for TV, there is a great variety of programs from which one can choose in order to satisfy his interests in the best way. Our television provides so much information that sometimes we are even lost in this stream. We get to know about social, economic and political events that take place in our country and in the whole world. We learn about new discoveries in science and about problems concerning different spheres of our life. There are lots of shows, films and games that are entertaining and exciting and help us to relax at the end of the working day. Newspapers are also able to supply people with any kind of information. They comprise articles about the latest international and national events, all kinds of rumours, advertising, fun stories, biographies of well-known people and so on. There are newspapers and magazines for people of all age groups where one can read all kinds of news, events and reports on education, sports, cultural life, entertainment and fashion. One more important thing which is worth mentioning is advertising. Mass Media is one of the best ways to promote various goods and to help people to understand what they really need. I believe it would be hard to imagine our life without Mass Media

It’s hard to imagine life without mass media nowadays. Media plays very important part in everyday life. It informs us about current affairs in the world. It educates us, gives a possibility to learn something new. It certainly entertains us in different ways. Mass media influences the way people dress, eat, communicate and many other parts of our lives. It can often make people change their views on different matters. Millions of people watch TV every day, listen to the radio in cars, read newspaper and magazines. Everyone finds something interesting through means of media. Of course, not all that we see, hear or read is objective. Sometimes the information can be altered. However, I believe that good reporters try to deliver us only reliable information. My favorite types of media are TV and Internet. I often watch interesting films on TV or educational channels, such as Animal Planet and National Geographic. As for Internet, it probably unites all media sources nowadays. So I can easily watch the same films or channels online. Besides, Internet is also used for mass communication, so I use it to talk to my friends. I don’t usually listen to the radio but if my parents turn it on in the car, I enjoy it.
