I like Sunday. I like this day very much. I needn’t hurry anywere and I may go wherever I like. On this day I wake up later than usual. I read or listen to music. I meet my friends and we discuss our plans together. We may go to the kinema, to museums and parks.
In fine weather we also like to be out of town. We find a nice place somewhere in the forest or on the bank of the river and have a rest. In winter my friends and I go to the skating-rink. Skating is my favorite kind of sport, but I like to ski too.
When the weather is bad my friends come to my place. We listen to music or watch the films. We like films about the life of the youth abroad. On the way home we usually discuss the films we’ve seen.
I enjoy this day very much.

My Mother’s Birthday
Last month my mother had her birthday. My father decided to throw a surprise party for her. Two weeks, before the event he booked a room in my mother’s favorite cafe. And then my father began to invite our relatives and friends.
Of course, that was a great secret. It was sometimes difficult to keep mother from suspecting anything. It was also difficult to make some people understand that it was to be a surprise. For example, the only time he could ring mother’s parents was when she happened to be in the house. However, she didn’t suspect anything and her parents didn’t said a word about the invitation.
Two weeks such secret planning was more than father could stand. He was glad when that day arrived but nervous in case something went wrong. He had told mother that they would just go shopping.
She agreed as she didn’t often make a big fuss of her birthday. My father had bought her a beautiful dress and she wore it when they went out. They wandered along the river and then around the shops. It was a lovely day and many people were out. Father was very nervous, because if mother guesses his surprise will be ruined.
Eventually it was time for my father to suggest having a meal at their favorite cafe. It would be his treat as a kind of birthday present. Mother readily agreed. Great was my mother’s surprise when she saw her sister-in-law’s car parked outside the cafe and greater when in the foyer she saw ray brother and me, though we had to be at the university.
What a crowd of people she found inside ready to wish her a happy birthday. My mother was very happy!
День рождения моей мамы
В прошлом месяце у моей мамы был день рождения. Мой папа решил устроить вечеринку — сюрприз для нее. За две недели перед событием он заказал комнату в любимом кафе моей мамы. Затем папа начал приглашать друзей и родственников.
Конечно, это была большая тайна. Иногда было очень сложно не вызвать у мамы подозрений. Также было трудно объяснить некоторым, что это сюрприз. Например, единственный удобный случай позвонить маминым родителям был, когда она оказалась дома. Однако она ничего не заподозрила, и родители не сказали ей ни слова о приглашении.
Две недели такого секретного планирования для папы было слишком много. Он радовался, когда наступил этот день, но нервничал, боясь, что что-нибудь будет не так. Он сказал маме, что они проедутся по магазинам.

Был погожий денек, и много людей было на улице. Папа очень нервничал, потому что если бы мама догадалась, сюрприз бы не удался.
В конце концов, подошло время, когда папа предложил поесть в их любимом кафе. Это его угощение было как бы подарком. Мама согласилась с готовностью. Велико было мамино удивление, когда она увидела машину невестки, припаркованную у кафе, и еще больше, когда увидела в фойе нас с братом, ведь мы должны были быть в университете.
Внутри она увидела много людей, которые пришли поздравить ее с днем рождения. Мама была очень счастлива!
