We live on a great planet called Earth. We must save it, because for example, oxygen keeps ecological balance in the nature. Look at the streets of your city. How many cars can you see? Nowadays, it is impossible to live without any transport. But cars, buses and the others send a lot of smoke into the air, which we breathe with. People destroy our green forests, they cut down millions of trees. As a result, many types of animals and birds lose their homes, and they disappear. We must save our environment!
Эссе на тему: what can we do or reduce the amount of litter (кратко, нужно указать причины, и советы как это устранить)
Changing a common behavior, like littering, starts with you. Each person must accept responsibility for their actions and influence the actions of others around them at home, at school, in your place of business, and in the community at large. Start with these actions:
Choose not to litter.Make the commitment now to join with thousands of other Americans to not be a litter-bug.
Educate friends and family on the litter laws in Tennessee.
Remind others not to litter and why.
Get a litter bag or portable ash receptacles to share.
Volunteer in your community to help prevent and cleanup litter—from cigarette butts to illegal dumps.

There are too many cars in our towns and cities and this is making our lives very unpleasant with high levels of pollution and lots of traffic jams. Эссе
In cities and towns all over the world the high volume of traffic is a problem. What are the causes of this and what actions can be taken to solve this problem? It is undoubtedly the case that urban areas around the world increasingly suffer from congestion. In this essay, I examine the reasons for this trend and suggest some practical policies the authorities could implement to reduce the level of traffic in our cities. The first step is to understand why traffic has increased in towns and cities. Broadly speaking, there are three main reasons for this. One is that cars have become more affordable for the average consumer and they are no longer a luxury item, but something that most families expect to own. A second reason is that public transport has become increasingly unreliable in recent years, not least because many bus and train services have been reduced because of the difficulty in funding them. The third reason is that society has in general become more mobile and this means more people are prepared to commute to work by car than they were before. There is almost certainly no one solution to this problem given the complexity of its causes. However, one option has to be to improve the reliability of public transport to encourage people to take the bus or the train rather than get in the car. It would also be possible to discourage people from driving to work by introducing special tariffs for using the roads, especially during peak periods. A successful example of this is the congestion charge scheme in London which has certainly reduced the level of trafficin inner-city areas. In conclusion, there are a variety of different factors that have led to rising levels of traffic in urban areas. While it may not be possible to find a complete solution, any action should probably involve encouraging greater use of public transport and making it more expensive for the motorist to drive in urban areas.

Chemical pollution of atmosphere.
The person pollutes atmosphere in the millenia, however consequences of the use of fire which it used all this period, were insignificant. It was necessary to be reconciled by that the smoke disturbed to breath and that soot laid down a black cover on a ceiling and walls of dwelling. Received heat for the person was more important, than pure air and incomplete walls of a cave. This initial air pollution did not represent a problem for people lived then small groups, occupying unreasonably extensive untouched environment. And even the considerable concentration of people in rather small territory as it was in a classical antiquity, was not accompanied still by serious consequences.
So was up to the beginning of the nineteenth century. Only for last hundred years development of the industry "has presented" us with such productions which consequence in the beginning the person could not present itself yet. There were the cities-millionaires which growth it is impossible to stop. All is result of great inventions and gains of the person.
The basic polluting substances.
Basically there are three basic sources of pollution of atmosphere: the industry, household boiler-houses, transport. The share of each of these sources in general, air pollution strongly differs depending on a place. Now that most strongly pollutes air industrial production. Sources of pollution - thermal power stations which together with a smoke throw out sulphurous and carbonic gas in air; the metallurgical enterprises, especially nonferrous metallurgy which throw out in air оксиды nitrogen, hydrogen sulphide, chlorine, fluorine, ammonia, connections of phosphorus, a particle and connection of mercury and arsenic; chemical and cement works. Harmful gases get to air as a result of burning of fuel for needs of the industry, heating of dwellings, work of transport, burning and processing household and industrial wastes.
Air Pollution is one of the most worrying problems of our time. This problem surfaced during the industrial revolution. The great industrial revolution brought about many positive changes to the world; better transportation, cheaper products, and a better life. However, with it’s riches came the price, pollution. At the beginning of the industrial revolution, no one paid any attention to the problem of pollution. As the science, progressed people started to realize this problem.
Air pollution arises from many sources. The burning of gasoline in automobiles produces harmful gases and incineration of products. From various factories come millions of particles that are carried off in the air. Chemical plants produce gaseous by-products that are toxic when their concentration is high enough. As parts of the world become more industrialized, air pollution has generally increased and new health hazards have developed. Air pollution can result from causes that we can not control. For example, forest fires, dust storms, and volcanoes.
So, all in all Air pollution is actually the addition of any harmful substances to the atmosphere, which causes the damaging of the environment, human health and the quality of life. With the development in industry, came along the increase in air polution, which occurs inside homes, schools, offices even in the countryside. Consequently there has been an increase in the death rates resulting from various diseases caused by air pollution varying from breathing problem to lung cancer. Air pollution does not only affect people but it also damages the whole ecological system in which plants and animals are harmed as well. Air pollution has reached such a critical stage where it affects the earth’s atmosphere as it lets in more harmful radiation from the sun. Consequently, our polluted atmosphere is becoming a better insulator, thus, preventing heat from escaping back into space. That is why there is a global rise in temperature which scientists refer to as "the very global warming". As a result of this rise in temperature the world food supply and sea level will be affected, also there is the probability of increase in the tropical disease.

Pollution of fresh waters — hit of various pollutants in waters of the rivers, lakes, underground waters. Occurs at direct or indirect hit of pollutants in water for lack of adequate measures for cleaning and removal of harmful substances.
In most cases pollution of fresh waters remains invisible as pollutants are dissolved in water. But there are also exceptions: foaming detergents, and also oil products floating on a surface and crude drains. There are some natural pollutants. The compounds which were in the earth of aluminum get to system of fresh reservoirs as a result of chemical reactions. High waters wash away from the soil of meadows of compound of magnesium which cause huge damage to fish stocks.

Air Pollution
More and more often people are told not to be in direct sunlight, because ultraviolet radiation from the sun can cause skin cancer. Normally the ozone layer in the atmosphere protects us from such radiation, but if there are holes in the ozone layer ultra¬violet radiation can get to the earth. Many scientists think that these holes are the result of air pollution.
Nuclear power stations can go wrong and cause nuclear pollution. This happened in Windscale in Britain, in Three Mile Island in the USA and Chernobyl in the former Soviet Union. Nuclear pollution cannot be seen but its effects can be terrible.
To make air clean again we need good filters at nuclear power stations, at factories and plants and also in cars and buses.
Both clean air and clean water are necessary for our health. If people want to survive they must solve these problems quickly. Man is beginning to understand that his environment is not just his own town or country, but the whole earth. That’s why people all over the world think and speak so much about ecology.

Water pollution by chemical elements which can get there to discharges of industrial wastewater lead to dangerous and intractable diseases. For example, mercury or cadmium, cause specific diseases: меркуриоз (Minamata disease), characterized by impaired hearing, sight, touch, neurological disorders; and кадмиоз (disease Itay - Itay) when there are strong pain, deformation of the skeleton, kidney, skeletal fractures.
There are special services that control the situation reservoirs. They put penalties enterprises are closed. But it’s not enough to each person felt responsible for their actions.
